Kurds kill Turkish soldiers in rocket attack

Six Turkish soldiers have been killed and seven injured in a rocket attack on a navy base in the country’s south, state media reports. Suspected Kurdish rebels fired on a military vehicle carrying troops in the Mediterranean port of Iskenderun.

STI gains 0.5% to 2,752.60 at closing

Singapore’s Straits Times Index increased 0.5% to 2,752.60 at the close. Three stocks advanced for every two that fell on the 30-member gauge.

Shares on the measure trade at 13.6 times estimated earnings, compared with about 17.5 times at the beginning of the year, according to Bloomberg data. The following shares were among the most active in the market.

Datapulse posts 57% fall in net profit to $1.4m in 3Q

Datapulse Technology, the total solution provider of CD and DVD services in the Asia Pacific region, reported that net profit decreased 57% for the third quarter results for the financial year 2010 (3QFY2010) to $1.4 million from $3.3 million (3QFY2009).

Khazanah Nasional’s partial takeover offer for Parkway Holdings (P27.SG) may throw spotlight on other Singapore healthcare companies with strong track record, says DMG, according to Dow Jones.
