Murdered Frenchman’s family seeks damages from Serbia

The family of Brice Taton, a Frenchman who was beaten to death in Belgrade in 2008, requested EUR 300,000 in damages from Serbia’s Interior Ministry.

Lawyer Slobodan Ruži?, who is representing the Taton family, told Tanjug that he had filed the lawsuit before the High Court in Belgrade because the Public Prosecution had failed to make a statement about possibilities for a peaceful solution through an out-of-court agreement within the prescribed 60 days.

“There will be no chaos, only changes”

Serbian Progressive Party (SNS)-led coalition presidential candidate Tomislav Nikoli? says “there will be no chaos” in the presidential run-off elections.

“We never tried to seize power by fighting on the streets. Our only weapon was the ballot. Now they have deprived us of it,” Nikoli? told Belgrade-based daily Danas, commenting on the accusations by the ruling coalition that he was trying to provoke chaos and chase investors away.
