Creating virtual databases

I took a trip to the GNWC in Vancouver last week and had an opportunity to spend some time chatting with a few of the students in the masters program about this cutting edge idea. Instead of looking at data through an excel sheet or table, they have created a virtual ocean using a game engine to help bring their data to life. It’s pretty amazing and quite spectacular to look at.
