“Patriarch’s death reveals people want modest leadership”

The funeral of Patriarch Pavle showed that the people want their leaders to show humility and modesty in these tough times, a B92 TV talk show heard.

Political science professor and historian Slobodan B. Marković said that the funeral of the late head of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SPC) last week was “one of the four largest in the past 100 years in Serbia”, counting the funerals of King Aleksandar, Yugoslav President Josip Broz and assassinated Prime Minister Zoran ĐinÄ‘ić.
