Belgians remember victims of deadly train crash

Font size:

A memorial service has been held in Belgium for the victims of the head-on train crash earlier this month in which 18 people died.

Prime Minister Yves Leterme and Prince Philippe joined rescue and rail workers in Brussels but many relatives of those killed stayed away, amid anger over safety standards on the Belgian railways. They have been called into question as investigations continue into the rush-hour collision near Halle, southwest of the capital.
