Rock’s resident “Piano Man” has joined the growing list of celebs vying for a place on television’s hottest new phenomenon — Glee.
This week, musician Billy Joel confirmed that he has given producers of the Emmy-nominated Fox dramedy the OK to use his illustrious catalogue — which includes hits like “New York State of Mind” and “Uptown Girl” — as a backdrop on the show. Who knows? The move could even lead to a Billy Joel tribute episode for Gleekers, who have already been treated to all-Madonna and all-Lady Gaga hours of their favorite new musical hit.
“All I know is I said, ‘Yeah! Go ahead. Use my stuff,’†Billy told Access Hollywood this week. “I was in a chorus when I was in high school, why not?â€
Matthew Morrison and Neil Patrick Harris dueted to Billy Joel’s “Piano Man†during the show’s critically-acclaimed first season.
