Adaptec, Inc. announced it is using Intel® X25-E Extreme SATA Solid-State Drives (SSDs) in a new storage solution that aims to maximize application acceleration in data centers. The Intel SSDs will be used to help deliver 5x the input/output (I/O) performance, reduce power consumption and save up to 50 percent capital and operating expenses in the new Adaptec hybrid storage array that uses a combination of SSDs and traditional hard disk drives.
