A weekend soccer match turned ugly after David Beckham was mercilesssly heckled by fans in Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon.
The LA Galaxy midfielder endured boos and obscene chants from fans in his first home game following a five-month loan to AC Milan.
Earlier this year, Becks indicated he wanted to stay in AC Milan rather than return to America. The snub has angered some fans in the City of Angels, most notably a hardcore sect caled the LA Riot Squad.
The hecklers crowd booed Beckham every time he touched the ball, and held signs reading: “Go home, fraud” and “23: Repent,” in reference to his shirt number.
Another read: “Hey Becks, here before you, here after you, here despite you,” while one stated: “Is evil something u are… or something u do?”
The former England captain had to be restrained by security after he attempted to jump over a barrier at halftime in pursuit of an angry fan who had been jeering him.
