The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruled that Croatia has been discriminating against Roma children by segregating their classes in elementary schools.
The Strasbourg-based court stated that Croatia has violated the European convention on Human Rights. Zagreb has been instructed to pay EUR 4,500 and another EUR 10,000 for court costs to every complainant. According to the court’s announcement, nine out of 17 judges ruled that Croatia had committed discrimination against Roma children.
