facebook 294x300 Facebook For Business #smbiz ChatAre you using Facebook for your business? Are you having success getting customers and keeping existing ones because of the popular social media site? It’s easy (or at least easier) to see how a small business or entrepreneur could benefit from using LinkedIn or even Twitter. But many feel Facebook is more difficult in a business setting since it involves a little more opportunity for personal lives and information between friends and family compared with customers.

But there are business marketing opportunities on Facebook, and #smbiz will show you some secrets. Join the #smbiz chat on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, from 8-9 pm ET. There will be several guest experts and small businesses effectively using Facebook for their business. You can learn from their experience and apply best practices for your business. Here are the guest panelists lined up for the chat:

Sarah Shaw (@entreprenettes on Twitter) works with companies of every size to help them promote their products. She uses Facebook for many projects when promoting products.

Peggy Li (@plcpeggy on Twitter) makes handmade jewelry, necklaces, charms and earrings available on her Web site, PeggyLi.com. She has set up a Facebook page and community where she promotes her jewelry to her many “fans.”

Jacqui Rosshandler (@eatwhatever on Twitter) is the maker of Eat Whatever organic breath freshener product. She has been successful in using Facebook to promote her growing business.

Penny Sansevieri (@bookgal on Twitter) is the chief marketing officer of Author Marketing Experts, a company that helps promote rising authors and their titles. Penny uses Facebook to help promote her author clients and provide updates on new titles coming out with book signings.

The #smbiz Twitter chats are hosted each Tuesday night from 8-9 pm ET. Each session we focus on a different topic that is important to small business owners, start-ups and entrepreneurs. One week we discuss taxes and the next may be health care plans, for example. To make sure we bring the best expertise possible we make sure to have expert panelists who are highly qualified to answer questions that pertain to our weekly topics. This way budding entrepreneurs can learn from other entrepreneurs.

If you’re interested in being on our panel of experts or if you have a specific question you’d like to make sure is asked during the chat, please email smbiz at understandingmarketing dot com.
