Too early for New Year’s Eve plans? Not for Green Day. The punk-rock trio will be ringing in 2010 with Carson Daly.
Green Day will perform during NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly, airing live from Times Square on Thursday, Dec. 31, the network announced Thursday. The live two-hour special, now in its sixth year, will feature the countdown to 2010 and the first performances of the New Year.
Carson says he’s “beyond excited” to have the Grammy winners as guests: “We have built a great tradition of having the best and biggest music acts on our New Year’s Eve live broadcast; having Green Day this year only solidifies that. I’m beyond excited. Green Day will make this year’s show a TV event to remember on NBC.”
Green Day’s latest CD 21st Century Breakdown has sold over 800,000 copies worldwide.
