The Department of Justice dealt Google’s Book Search agreement with authors and publishers a blow Feb. 4 when it protested the amended deal and suggested that the U.S. District Court overseeing the proceedings urge the parties to revise it again. U.S. District Judge Denny Chin will convene a hearing on the deal Feb. 18, where he will likely ask Google and the Author’s Guild and Association of American Publishers to return to the bargaining table.
