European regulators are giving their approval to HPs $2.7 billion bid for networking equipment maker 3Com, a move that will bolster HPs ProCurve networking business, give it a greater presence in China and add to its converged data center solutions capabilities in its growing competition with the likes of IBM, Cisco, Dell and Oracle.
