IBM has developed new software called DB2pureScale for IBM Power Systems with the intent of increasing database transaction capacity while cutting costs and risks faced by businesses with growing systems. The software will compete against Oracle’s Real Application Clusters technology, and is being announced just days before the start of the Oracle OpenWorld 2009 convention in San Francisco.
