Titanic director James Cameron enjoyed an epic weekend; the director’s sci-fi adventure Avatar shot to the top of the North American box office the same day he received the 2,396 star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
On Friday, the legendary filmmaker Cameron was honored by fans and industry pals as he received the 2,396th star.
“The placement is especially cool – right in front of the prestigious Egyptian Theatre, right next to Sylvester Stallone, my co-writer on Rambo: First Blood Part II,” Cameron told reporters during Friday’s ceremony. “We’re together again – apparently for all eternity now.”
Avatar raked in nearly $75 million at U.S. and Canadian theaters this weekend.
