Joe Simpson — father and manager of Hollywood’s Ashlee and Jessica Simpson, is developing a Nickelodeon comedy loosely based on his life as a psychologist raising two daughters in Texas. The untitled project centers on one of the daughters who begins imitating her father and giving life advice to other kids in her school.

This isn’t Joe’s first tango with television producing; in addition to steering a series of TV projects for his famous daughters, the accused stage dad also contributed to the now-defunct ABC drama Women’s Murder Club.
