Jon Gosselin has cancelled his first public interview since his split from wife Kate.

In an interview with The TODAY Show’s Meredith Vieira on Monday, Kate said she and her ex-husband had taken their lives in different directions, adding that she does not blame the success of the family’s hit TLC series Jon & Kate Plus 8 for ruining the union.

Jon and his allegedly girlfriend Kate Major were scheduled to speak with Ryan Seacrest in an interview for E! News on Monday, however, the interview was abruptly cancelled earlier this afternoon.

“The interview with Jon Gosselin originally scheduled for tonight’s E! News has been canceled,” a spokesperson for E! said in a statement to The Insider.

The interview with Kate Major will still air.

The former Star reporter claims she had a whirlwind romance with Jon and quit her job over it. Jon insists he’s in love with Hailey Glassman, a 22-year-old college dropout, and claims his relationship with Major was platonic.

“We had plans to travel together, to live together, and to be together. He told me he was going to Massachusetts to break up with her,” says Major. “I know the truth. He knows the truth. Unfortunately she did not.”
