After raising eight kids no one would make TLC’s tabloid darling Kate Gosselin for the shy type, but according E! Online’s Marc Malkin, the reality mom may be a bit too meek for daytime TV.
Or maybe Kate’s just realizing that the rest of the world won’t be as easy to bully as her soon-to-be ex-husband Jon, who was frequently on the receiving end of chiding from Kate before he reclaimed ownership of his balls and filed for divorce earlier this year.
In New York City on Sunday, the star of TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8 taped a pilot for Mom Logic, a daytime talk show targeting working mothers, with potential co-hosts Paula Deen, comedian Judy Gold, former Early Show co-anchor Rene Syler, and Lee Woodruff, wife of journalist Bob Woodward.
“She was very shy. She was a lot shier than I thought she would be,†says a source, who believes Kate will have to do a lot more talking if she and her co-hosts expect to compete with Wendy, Ellen, and the ladies of The View. “She’s a quiet lady… She was very low-key. But all of the women got along great.â€
