It is true that Grey’s Anatomy star Katherine Heigl is adopting!

Apparently she does have a heart…..

The actress and her husband Josh Kelley will be adopting a 10 month old special needs girl who they have yet to meet. Heigl explained her reasons for the adoption to Ellen Degeneres on her show (which will air today), saying that she grew up with an adopted Korean sister and that adopting a Korean child was something she always wanted to do.

“We started talking about adoption even before we were engaged because it’s really important to me. It’s been a big part of my life and my family. My sister is Korean and my parents adopted her back in the ’70s and so I just always knew that this is something I wanted to do” said Heigl.

The couple has already chosen a name for their child, although it may change after they meet her.

“I am naming her after my mother and sister — Nancy, Leigh. So we call her Naleigh,”
