Tabloid-lovin’ gossip-gawkers just aren’t that into Reunited and It Feels So Good: The Bristol and Levi Edition.
Last week’s Us Weekly cover story spilling the beans on the secret engagement of former Gov. Sarah Palin’s teen mom daughter and her long estranged ex, Levi Johnston, moved a disappointing 750,000 copies at the newsstand — this despite reports that the coup reportedly cost the tab a staggering $100,000.
“Last week sales figures for Us Weekly were a huge disappointment. After spending that sort of money, Us was hoping to sell over a million copies; instead they only sold around 750,000. Don’t expect to see any of the Palins on a cover of any other [celebrity] weeklies any time soon,” an insider told PopEater’s Naughty or Nice Column Wednesday.
Celebrity weeklies are so shocked by the lack of public interest in Bristol and Levi’s reunion that photos a faux reunion between Levi and the Soccer Mom in Lipstick herself have been rendered virtually useless.
“Additionally, what didn’t help the Palins was the fact that Angelina and Brad stepped out on the red carpet together Monday evening for her Salt premiere in Los Angeles. Just before the weekly magazines went to print the world’s most gorgeous couple handed them a perfect cover image. No one handles their image better than those two. Not even Sarah Palin.”
