Another day, another headline-snatching scandal for actress Lindsay Lohan.
Lindsay Lohan is accused of leaving the scene of an accident after she allegedly clipped a young child in a stroller while cruising around her West Hollywood neighborhood last Wednesday night — mere days after the troubled starlet regained her driving privileges for the first time in more than three years.
The recently rehabilitated star clipped the corner of a child’s stroller in her high-powered Maserati after rounding the corner on a red light, spywitnesses report.
“There was a woman pushing a kid in the stroller, maybe a two or three-year-old, crossing the street,†witness Brayan Jaime told RadarOnline.com on Friday. “Lindsay took the red light and hit the stroller. It wasn’t super hard, but she made impact and hit them,†Jaime says. “Lindsay pulled to the right, stopped for two seconds, and then just kept going.â€
Brayan insists the Mean Girls actress was the driver.
“I’m 100 percent sure Lindsay was driving because I saw her with my own eyes. She was just driving like crazy once I started following her. She was trying to lose me, blowing stop signs and stuff. Lindsay was scared because she knew I saw what she did.”
Austin Visschedyk — an enterprising snapper on the scene — backs up James’ story. He followed Lindsay after the accident and confronted her when her car was stopped at traffic lights.
“I pulled up next to Lindsay after I saw her knock the stroller. I said, ‘Whoa, what the f–k are you doing?’†Austin claims. He says the star was momentarily speechless before she replied: “Well, I saw them, but they didn’t move out of the way.â€
A conflicting report by TMZ.com claims Lindsay rolled down the window and asked the child’s mother if they were ok before driving away. And a third witness at the scene confirmed that Lindsay was driving the out-of-control Maserati, but argues that she may not have realized the incident had taken place as contact with the car and the stroller were minimal. (The phrase “Lame excuse” springs to mind.)
For her part, 24-year-old Lohan – who was released from a court ordered rehab earlier this month – denied the incident with the stroller even happened.
When contacted for comment, she told website RadarOnline.com: “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” before quickly hanging up the phone.
So far, no complaint has been made to the police.
The Machete actress served 13 days in jail last month as part of a sentence for violating the terms of probation set following a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence.
