Lindsay Lohan is seeking a restraining order to stop her estranged father from contacting her.

A source tells PEOPLE: “Lindsay is actively getting a restraining order, her lawyer has already been contacted. She’s scared. This is really serious.”

The news comes a day after Michael Lohan revealed that he would like to “kidnap’ his daughter and take her to an isolated location to help get her straight.”

He said: “I’m going to see the judge this week. If I can’t get a conservatorship, then I’m going to take her to an undisclosed location and get her straight. But I know I’m gonna get charged with kidnapping.”
The Mean Girls actress is reportedly “scared” by Michael’s behaviour and is taking legal action to bar him access to her.

During a taping for an episode of Maury scheduled to air later this month, Michael – a drug counselor and minister — spoke out about his daughter, as well as the increasing trend, some say, among teens taking prescription drugs.

“Lindsay, I love you with all my heart and … I am not going to bury you. You’re going to bury me before this is over. I will do anything and everything I have to to save your life. Whether mom likes it, or the public likes it or anyone, I am going to take all the steps I can to help you because I want you to have your life back. You’re not in the right state of mind…..”
