The camera integrates 12X, 25 – 300 mm zoom lens, helpful Intelligent Auto mode, extra-sharp 3-inch LCD display, as well as HD movie mode. Unfortunately, it has only 15MB which means that the camera is able to hold only twp photos at the highest quality setting. But still it is able to back up SD, SDHC as well as the latest ultra-high capacity SDXC memory cards.

It packs in the same DMW-BCG10 lithium-ion battery found on its predecessor. The DMC-ZS7 has an integrated lens cover. In fact it is a small camera. The company added its PhotoFunStudio 5.1 HD Edition software to the camera. The software is basic, but it does a good job for basic photo editing and viewing as well. On the screen of the camera one can view photos by folder, date and also location.

The camera is capable to recognize faces, email, display a slideshow, copy images to a memory card or DVD. It is also possible to adjust such aspects as contrast, brightness, sharpness and color. Moreover, images can be altered to black and white, sepia, or even “negative color”, there is an option with the help of which one can remove red eyes.
