Microsoft is gearing up for next weeks Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where the company is scheduled to make a high-profile announcement regarding its plans in the mobile space. This announcement will most likely be the unveiling of Windows Mobile 7, its much-rumored smartphone operating system, although recent rumors suggest that Microsoft is interested in potentially acquiring BlackBerry maker Research In Motion.
