Microsoft could attract consumers to its Windows Phone 7 Series, once the new smartphone operating system is released later in 2010, according to Jefferies Co. analyst Katherine Egbert. In her March 9 research note, Egbert suggests that devices running Windows Phone 7 Series could appear on the market as early as 2010, and that Microsofts decision to restrict its partners ability to customize the operating system, and thus present a consistent user experience, will also help it gain mobile users.
