She narrowly missed an opportunity to claim the coveted mirrorball trophy on the ninth season of Dancing With The Stars, but R&B songbird Mya is wasting no time reestablishing herself as an artist. The Grammy-winning singer is set to guest star on a upcoming episode of NBC’s freshman drama medical Mercy.

The singer/actress will play the melodramatic musician daughter of a dying 80-year-old man on an episode airing Jan. 6, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Mya, 30, finished in second place behind “Puppy Love” crooner Donny Osmond on DWTS this week. Her sixth studio album is reportedly scheduled for a February 2010 release on her Planet 9 independent label.
