ISLAMABAD (APP) – Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif during a telephonic conversation on Sunday evening discussed the matters of national importance, specially the proposed accountability bill.
Nawaz informed the Prime Minister that draft of the proposed accountability bill – which was forwarded to him by the Federal Government as part of consultation on the subject – has been sent back to the government with necessary recommendations.
The PML-N Quaid hoped that the new accountability law will satisfy all shades of life and fulfil the requirements for all times to come.
The Prime Minister assured the PML-N Quaid that the government will ensure and put in all-out efforts to make a comprehensive law, which will be acceptable to all walks of life and to fulfil all standards of future requirements.
The Prime Minister, however, added that the people should not confuse the accountability with that of political victimisation, as there was a thin difference between the two.
The two leaders also agreed that they will stop their party leaders and workers from trading allegations against each otherÂ’s leadership. The Prime Minister said the government attaches high priority and importance to ensuring transparency and good governance at all levels.
He apprised the PML-N Quaid that Senator Mian Raza Rabbani, the head of Parliamentary Committee on Constitutional Reforms, had informed him that the committee was working day and night and has so far held around 40 meetings. From Tuesday onward, the committee will hold its meetings on daily basis to finalise its recommendations, which are to be presented before the House.
The Prime Minister reiterated to continue the politics of reconciliation and to take along all political forces on the issues of national importance.
Nawaz Sharif also informed the Prime Minister of his forthcoming visit to Quetta and Sindh in connection with the party matters.
The Prime Minister on this occasion also referred to the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package and said it was according to the long-standing demands of the people of the province and hoped it would go a long way in mitigating the grievances and removing sense of deprivation of the people of Balochistan.
Nawaz expressed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Gilani and assured all-out support to him. He further said that the package augurs well for the people of Balochistan and will help address the grievances and the sense of deprivation that existed in the province.
