Nick Lachey has been tapped to host The Sing-Off – NBC’s entry into the TV singing competition craze premiering on Dec. 14 and continuing over four nights — the network said on Monday.

Lachey, former frontman of the boy band 98 Degrees, will host the show that sees eight acappella groups competing for a $100,000 prize and a contract with Sony Music Entertainment’s Epic Records with America’s votes.
