American pop singer Nick Lachey has in an interview wished his ex-wife singer Jessica Simpson all the best, and also stated that there is no planned reunion between them.

Both stars of the reality show Newlyweds are at the moment single, but Lachey, 35, insisted, at a party at Dusk at the Caesars Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, that there was nothing between them.

“I think it’s fun storytelling, but there’s very little truth to any of it,” People magazine quoted him as saying on July 18.

“I certainly have heard about her breakup and I wish her the best, as I’ve always done. Aside from that, there really is nothing to say,” he added.

Lachey was also asked if he had reached out to his ex-wife since her sudden split from Tony Romo.

“I haven’t talked to her in probably two years,” he said.

“I wish her happiness. That’s where it pretty much ends,” he added.
