British scientists have concluded in a study that cell phone masts are not a risk for pregnant woman’s baby and it is not likely to have a cancer. The study is the largest conducted so far.

The study involved about 7000 children which had cancers. The scientists found that the children who developed cancer at age of five or earlier were unlikely to be born close to a mast. A scientist Paul Elliot said that the results were reassuring and that it was found that no pattern was revealed to suggest that the children of mothers who lived near a base of station during pregnancy had more risk of developing cancer as compared to those living elsewhere.

In past few years, use of cell phones has dramatically increased and there have been questions raised about its possible impact on the health of grown people and children including in the womb of mothers. The study has been published in British Medical Journal.
