Palin goes on the attack on US TV debut

Sarah Palin1 240x300 Palin goes on the attack on US TV debut Former Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin made her debut as a commentator on the right wing FOX News channel Tuesday blasting the Obama administration and the political handlers she clashed with in last year’s election campaign.

Palin wore a green cloth cap somewhat reminiscent of those made famous by Chinese leader Chairman Mao. But she gave an unmistakably blunt American performance by calling comments from a former campaign adviser “a bunch of B.S.” She also harangued against the media, accusing “political establishment reporters” of trying to “gin up controversy and spin up gossip”.

“The rest of America doesn’t care about that kind of crap,” said Palin, the conservative former Alaskan governor and a potential Republican 2012 White House candidate.

She also blasted US President Barack Obama. “There is an obvious disconnect between President Obama and the White House, what they are doing to our economy and what they are doing in terms of not allowing Americans to feel as safe as we had felt,” she told interviewer Bill O’Reilly.

Palin’s multi-year deal with FOX is her first job since her abrupt resignation as governor of Alaska last year. Her memoir, “Going Rogue”, was a national bestseller and she has been a constant focus of US media attention.
