Closing the night out with a serious case of The Sads, guys: Patrick Swayze passed away on Monday after a brave battle against pancreatic cancer, The Associated Press has learned. He was 57.
The beloved actor wowed moviegoers as the star of iconic films like Ghost, Dirty Dancing, and Road House. A big screen heartthrob, Swayze was named PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive in 1991.
Swayze was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2008. Nonetheless, the star juggled cancer treatments with his work schedule, as he worked diligently on the set of his now-defunct A&E FBI drama The Beast. Patrick Swayze is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Lisa Niemi.
We’ll update details as they come in.
Rest In Peace, Mr. Swayze….
