This past weekend, on Saturday September 12, Michael Franti celebrated the 11th annual Power To The Peaceful Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Always a free event, this year’s lineup included Michael Franti & Spearhead, Alanis Morissette, Sly & Robbie, Cherine Anderson, Vieux Farka Toure, Sellassie and others like Namkha Rinpoche who brought a personal message from the Dalai Lama. Heavy on the activism and power of the people, a list of nonprofit organizations that joined the festival can be found here.
