Prince “20Ten” Album Promo Spoofs Fergie Scandal

Font size:

Prince fans in the UK are just two days away from the release of The Purple One’s new album, 20Ten. In anticipation of the big day, London tab The Daily Mirror has released this spoof of Sarah Ferguson’s May bribery scandal — during which the Duchess of York was caught trying to sell access to her ex-husband, Prince Andrew as part of newspaper sting.

In this video faux “Fergie” offers up access to another Prince.

Copies of 20Ten — a funk and new wave-inspired set — will be available in The Mirror and Daily Record on July 10.

The pop/rock legend — who recently broke up with the Internet — first released an album through a newspaper with 2007’s Planet Earth, causing anger among retailers. Prince’s spokeswoman, Kiran Sharma, says that the deal shows “it is still possible for artists to work in an independent and innovative capacity.”

Prince has famously refused to allow his music to be distributed digitally.
