Russell Ferguson won the sixth season of So You Think You Can Dance.
The 20-year-old hip-hop/krump dancer from Beantown was named America’s Favorite Fancy-Footer on Wednesday night’s live finale of the FOX reality talent competition — which featured performances by Adam Lambert, Jennifer Lopez, and Mary J. Blige.
Russell takes home a $250,000 and a cover feature with the March edition of Dance Spirit Magazine. Jakob Karr, a 19-year-old contemporary dancer from Windermere, FL, finished second. Kathryn McCormick, 19, from Augusta, GA, landed in third place.
“I just want to thank everybody – this means everything to me,” he said. “I’ve dreamed of this since I was born. I want to thank the judges for their criticism, you guys make me better as a person and as a dancer.”
Auditions for the seventh season of SYTYCD begin in Miami Jan. 18.
