According to Verizon Wireless and Skype, the companies are going to join their forces in order to install Skype to nine BlackBerry and Android phones on the Verizon network. Such news was announced at the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona. A mobile version of Skype will appear in the market next week. Due to it users will be able to chat, they will have an opportunity to get free Skype-to-Skype calls, and even Skype Out calls to any phone number including cheap international rates.
There is nothing specific of Skype availability on handsets. But as for Verizon, it does not only permit Skype but also buddies up with it. It happens because Skype is considered to be a selling point for Verizon’s phones. No doubts, it is an interesting twist. We are looking forward to use Skype Mobile on handsets.
Skype Mobile is able to operate in the background and probably users can use a Skypein phone number that will allow people to dial a standard phone number as well as reach a user in Skype.
