On Wednesday Star Jones had cardiac surgery that was caused by the surgery that was rarely performed. In fact, she underwent it three decades ago after she learned that her thoracic tumor was developing.

According to People, it was confirmed by a rep that Star Jones underwent the procedure saying that a pre-planned cardiac surgery was performed on Star Jones which was held on Wednesday, March 17th at a New York City hospital. This recent surgery is considered to be a follow-up to the thoracic surgery which she had 30 years ago. In fact, the whole procedure was successful and Star Jones is on the road to recovery. At present she is spending the time with her family. It should be said that Star is grateful to all those who supported and prayed for her.

Jones who is 47 now, underwent gastric bypass surgery and as a result she lost 160 lbs. one should note that her recent cardiac surgery happens just days before her birthday. Star Jones is going to celebrate her 48th birthday on March 24.
