The Straits Times index advanced 1.3% to 2,616.27 as of the 12:30 p.m. trading break. Three stocks gained for each that fell on the 30- member gauge. The following shares were among the most active in the market.
CapitaLand (CAPL SP): Southeast Asia’s largest developer, gained 2.7% to $3.77, set for its highest closing level since Sept 16. Deutsche Bank AG and OCBC Investment Research upgraded the stock after the company said it plans to list its CapitaMalls Asia, which will own and manage its shopping malls in China, Malaysia, Japan, India and Singapore.
