According to Economic Times, Tata Motors European Technical Centre plc has manufactured a number of hydrogen fuel cell-powered commercial vehicles and is on the way to undertake trial runs of these new light trucks and buses.

John Richmond, group chief engineer said that the company was going to take test with these fuel cell vehicles in order to amass experience of how they work in operation.

But still the company’s spokesperson decided not to comment.

One should remind that cell vehicle or FC vehicle (FCV) is regarded as a hydrogen vehicle that is based on a fuel cell in order to produce its on-board motive power. Fuel cells carry out electricity to power an electric motor.

All fuel cells consist of three parts such as an anode, an electrolyte and also a cathode. The work of a fuel sell is quite the same if compare with a conventional battery, but they are refilled with hydrogen. There are various types of fuel cells like Polymer Electrolyte Membrane (PEM) Fuel Cells, Phosphoric Acid Fuel Cells, Direct Methanol Fuel Cells, Molten Carbonate Fuel Cells, Regenerative Fuel Cells and also Solid Oxide Fuel Cells. One should note that a vehicle that is fueled with pure hydrogen, it evolves few pollutants. So as you see there is sense to use such vehicles.
