Google March 9 launched its Google Apps Marketplace, essentially a Webstore for cloud computing applications that integrate with and augment Google Apps collaboration programs. Google says more than 1 million Google Apps users are using applications from the Marketplace, which analysts view as a shot fired in the direction of Salesforce.com’s AppExchange.
