Mumbai: YouTube is now experimenting for a new lightweight version of its video player pages called feather. This is for those surfers, who have got a slow internet connectivity or broadband connection.

This new lightweight version will save the time to download a video and accelerate the video-playing process. ‘Feather’ pages do a number of things, like defaulting to the standard quality version, only shows a limited number of comments, and associated features.
It is for the users experience the quick video load and play that also aims to keep things simple.
According to the You Tube blog, “If we see adoption go up along with improvements in latency, we’ll look to roll this out of TestTube and make it more widely available.”
