Kraljevo Mayor Ljubisa Simović stated on Wednesday that the damage caused by an earthquake exceeds EUR 100mn. Simović told journalists that the city of Banja Luka in the Serb republic (RS) in Bosnia made a donation of EUR 25,000 to help the central Serbia town.

President Boris Tadić says Italian carmaker Fiat will by the end of this year make the EUR 100mn payment in the Zastava deal. Tadić was on a trip to Turin, Italy on Sunday, and said that an annex to the contract between Fiat and the state of Serbia, concerning the Kragujevac-based Zastava car manufacturer, will be signed on Wednesday.

EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn and Deputy PM Božidar Äelić have signed a financial agreement in Brussels giving Serbia’s budget EUR 100mn in IPA funds. “I’m sure that it will be seen as an boon to continue legislative and economic reform in the country,“ said Rehn.
