Soilbuild +12.1%; Accept delisting offer, says OCBC
OCBC Investment Research suggests investors accept offer: “While we like Soilbuild’s focus on capital management and the budding stream of recurrent rental income that will support dividends, this offer presents an opportunity for shareholders to cash out of a fairly illiquid investment at reasonably attractive terms.”
Offer, made through Lim’s investment vehicle Dolphin Acquisitions, values Soilbuild at around $418 million.
Dolphin, together with other shareholders agreeing to delisting offer, now owns 73.09% of company.
Independent financial adviser will be appointed in due course to advise Soilbuild, minority shareholders.
Broadway Industrial posts 121% rise in 1Q profit after tax to $12m
Broadway Industrial Group says it posted a 121.4% y-o-y increase in profit after tax and minority interest (PATMI) for the first quarter of 2010 (1Q2010) to $11.9 million from $5.4 million in 1Q2009. This was backed by 11.2% y-o-y growth in revenue to $151.1 million in 1Q2010 from $135.9 million in 1Q2009.

Brooklyn Bowl has announced a second Haiti relief benefit to take place tomorrow, January 21. Brooklyn Bowl regulars Q-Tip and ?uestlove will team up at the Williamsburg venue/bowling alley/restaurant this Thursday offering a pair of DJ sets. Additionally, Blue Ribbon will prepare special Haitian-themed dishes for the evening. All concert proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Haiti Fund and Yele Haiti.
“Our team was eager to do something to help,” said Brooklyn Bowl co-owner Peter Shapiro. “While careful and calculated action is necessary to ensure the appropriate allocation of resources and funds, there is no time to waste, as thousands of Haitians are suffering. We’re glad that this benefit materialized so quickly.”

Palm Resyncs iTunes with webOS 1.2.1
Palm’s newest update to its webOS platform allows the Palm Pre to again sync with iTunes, a functionality that Apple has spent the summer doing its best to prevent. Despite Apple’s repeated threats to shut down any and all iTunes syncing attempts, Palm evidently sees that feature as important enough to keep designing update workarounds.
