Apple recently announced that more than 2 billion applications for the iPhone and the iPod Touch had been downloaded from its App Store, which now catalogs over 85,000 free and paid apps. Many of those apps have demonstrable use for both business users and consumers; however, for every one that ports some vital functionality onto your iPhone, the App Store boasts another dozen that have absolutely no use whatsoever, except maybe to amuse those very easily amused. 15 tourists drown in Macedonia

CapitaLand says 15% gain in home prices ‘reasonable’: Update

CapitaLand Chief Executive Officer Liew Mun Leong said a 5% to 15% increase in Singapore home prices would be “reasonable” given pent-up demand, interest rates and a recovery in stock prices.

A 30% gain in home prices would raise concerns about the sustainability of the recovery in the island’s property market, Liew said in an interview today. Record home sales in July can still be viewed as “normal behavior,” he said. Liew spoke after CapitaLand, Southeast Asia’s biggest developer, presented a project for 1,040 apartments in Singapore.
