Keppel profit rises 17% as economy revives rig demand: Update 2

Keppel Corp., the world’s largest oil-rig maker, said profit in the fourth quarter rose 17%, beating analysts’ estimates, as rising oil prices and requirements for newer, safer rigs stoked demand.

Net income climbed to a record $403 million from $343 million a year earlier, the company said today. That surpassed the $371.3 million average of four analyst estimates compiled by Bloomberg. Sales fell 19% to $2.44 billion.

Zero: 2 Shows in SF in March Benefit For Judge Murphy

ANNIVERSARY OF CLASSIC LIVE ALBUM


Zero will perform on Friday, March 4, and Saturday, March 5 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco. These shows mark the 20th anniversary of Chance In A Million, the live album recorded at the GAMH that helped cement Steve Kimock’s place in the guitar pantheon and featured Nicky Hopkins (Rolling Stones), Vince Welnick (Grateful Dead), John Kahn (The Jerry Garcia Band) and many others. The album also featured new Robert Hunter songs delivered in fine voice by Judge Murphy. The band reunites to commemorate the music and to benefit Judge, who is battling liver cancer, awaiting a transplant.

The lineup for Zero will feature Steve Kimock, Greg Anton, Judge Murphy, Chip Roland, Liam Hanrahan, and special guests. Tickets on sale Sunday, January 23 through www.gamh.com.

Oxley’s Loft@Holland fully sold within 2 hours of launch

Oxley Holdings Limited says all 41 apartment units of Loft@Holland were taken up within two hours of the soft launch today.

Demand was strong enough to require balloting to be conducted for all but two units.

On average, there were about three interested buyers per unit. The units were booked at prices up from $1,630 psf to $2,166 psf and the buyers were mainly Singaporeans.

Sri Trang said to seek $361m in Singapore sale: Update 2

Sri Trang Agro-Industry Pcl, the best performer on Thailand’s benchmark stock index last year, wants to raise about $280 million ($361 million) from a share sale in Singapore, according to a term sheet obtained by Bloomberg News.

Sri Trang, Thailand’s biggest publicly traded rubber producer, will sell as many as 280 million shares to individual and institutional investors, according to a prospectus sent to the Monetary Authority of Singapore today. The company in August delayed the sale, citing “volatility” in global equity markets.
