CapitaCommercial Trust’s FY 2010 DPU of 7.83 cents, up 11% from 2009

CapitaCommercial Trust (CCT), Singapore’s first listed commercial REIT with a market capitalisation of $4.3 billion, says distributable income of $221.0 million for the financial year ended 31 December 2010 (FY 2010).

This is 11.3% above the same period last year.

FY 2010 estimated distribution per unit (DPU) of 7.83 cents is a 10.9% year-on-year increase from FY 2009 DPU of 7.06 cents.

Irregularities in 2009 budget spending

The State Auditing Institution (DRI) has found numerous irregularities in the spending of the 2009 budget and even violations of the law in some cases. An inspection of the final budget balance for 2009 included around 70 percent of budget expenditures and looked into the spending of seven ministries, the Treasury Administration and the National Bank of Serbia, in the section related to budget handling.

Singapore’s inflation holds near fastest since Jan 2009

Singapore’s inflation held near the fastest pace since January 2009 as the government predicts prices will climb further amid rising food and labor costs.

The consumer price index gained 3.5% in October from a year earlier, after gaining 3.7% in September, Singapore’s Department of Statistics said in a statement today. That compared with the 3.7% median estimate of 12 economists surveyed by Bloomberg News. Prices rose 0.5% from September, without adjusting for seasonal factors.

Singapore accepted half of 2009 residency requests

Singapore approved about half of processed applications for permanent residency in the city state last year, mostly accepting those from qualified professionals, the Straits Times reported, citing Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng, who was speaking in a parliamentary session yesterday.

VMware Doubles Revenue Flow Over Q2 2009

Net income for the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company rocketed to $74.5 million — or 18 cents per share — from the Q2 2009 total of $32.5 million, or 8 cents per share. Revenue rose 48 percent to $673.9 million from $455.7 million a year ago. –

SPH sees full-year overall performance topping 2009

Singapore Press Holdings expects the overall performance in 2010 to be better than the previous financial year. Print ad revenue and profit from the core newspapers have “rebounded strongly,” Chief Executive Officer Alan Chan said in a statement today.

BSA: Software Theft Costs Industry $51 Billion in 2009

In its annual report on piracy, the Business Software Alliance (BSA) reported software theft cost the IT industry $51 billion last year, with China leading the way.

Dairy Farm 2009 profit rises on gains in Asian sales: Update

Dairy Farm International Holdings, the operator of supermarkets, drugstores and convenience shops throughout Asia, said 2009 profit rose 9% as it opened stores and consumers spent more on beauty and healthcare products.

Net income for the year to December climbed to US$364 million ($509 million) from US$333 million, the Singapore-listed company said in a statement to the London Stock Exchange today. Sales including associates rose 4% to US$8.05 billion, it said.
