Changjiang Fertilizer Holdings posts 21.4% fall in net profit to $3.3m

Changjiang Fertilizer Holdings, the coal-based producer of nitrogenous fertiliser in Hunan Province, China, posted a net profit of RMB 78.96 million ($16.3 million) for the year ended 31 December 2009 (FY09).

The group’s revenue grew 10.5% year-on-year (y-o-y) to RMB309.2 million in FY09 due to the higher sales volume.

Haiti Benefit: Members of Ween RRE, Hot Tuna on 2/14 in NYC

Haiti Benefit this weekend features members of Railroad Earth, Ween and Hot Tuna

Americana Artist George Kilby Jr. will produce a Valentine’s Day Benefit Concert for Haitian Aid, February 14, from 3 p.m. till Midnight at Mannys on Second in New York City. Internationally known musicians who are based in New York will be featured, along with regional bands playing a wide variety of genres including bluegrass, jazz, blues, country, funk, and rock & roll.

Partners in Health is the beneficiary of all proceeds. The organization has been doing work in Haiti for 20 years which has put them “on the ground” and in the midst of the aid process at the time of the earthquake.

On February 14, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion will perform at the benefit event A Concert for Loved Ones in Haiti, taking place at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield, MA.

This special event features a stellar lineup of artists from the Berkshires and beyond, including Martin Sexton, Vetiver, Tift Merritt, The Mammals, Bobby Sweet, Meg Hutchinson, Kris Delmhorst, and Jay Ungar & Molly Mason to help raise funds for Haiti earthquake relief.
