Genting Singapore Plc had its share-price forecast raised to $3 from $2 at CLSA Asia Pacific Markets, which said the casino operator’s earnings growth will remain strong.
Genting, operator of one of two casino resorts in the city- state, climbed 1.1% to $1.85 at 9:10 a.m. in Singapore, heading for another record close. CLSA maintained its “buy” rating on the stock.

Singapore shares may open stronger on Friday after Wall Street rose overnight, helped by a surprise rise in US pending home sales.
But gains in the Straits Times Index <.FTSTI> may be limited as Singapore’s purchasing managers’ index (PMI) for August indicated the manufacturing economy contracted for the first time after 15 months of expansion.
The Institute of Purchasing & Materials Management said on Thursday that overall new orders, new export orders, production and employment all had readings below 50 in August.

Tiger Airways (J7X.SG) most active stock in Singapore market, off 3% at $1.92 on over 70.5 million shares, dragged down by two block trades related to placement exercise involving substantial shareholders Indigo Singapore, Ryanasia and CEO Tony Davis. All three parties sold total of 65.8 million shares, or 12.3% of company, via placement to institutional investors at $1.90 each, according to Dow Jones.
“(We) see the sell-down (by the vendors) as a sign that, at current valuations, the share price may be over valued,” says Macquarie; downgrades stock to Underperform from Neutral, cuts target to $1.71 from $2.10, based on 10.5x FY11 EV/EBITDAR. Immediate support at placement price.

Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC (GIC.UL) has added three banks as joint bookrunners for the upcoming IPO of its logistics unit that could raise as much as US$3 billion ($4.1 billion), two sources familiar with the deal said.
The three bookrunners — UBS (UBSN.VX), China International Capital Corp (CICC) and DBS (DBSM.SI) — will help in the listing of GLP, which owns warehouses in China and Japan, sources familiar with the deal told Reuters.

Wilmar, the world’s largest palm oil firm, has mandated ANZ, HSBC and Rabobank to help it raise US$1.1 billion ($1.5 billion) to finance its acquisition of CSR’s sugar business, Basis Point reported, citing banking sources.
Basis Point, a Thomson Reuters service, said the multi-tranche loan will have an average life of less than three years, with tenors ranging from one to five years.

Singapore stocks are likely to recieve a boost on Tuesday from a rally on Wall Street, where US stocks closed at their highest level in 10 weeks on Monday as a weaker US dollar lifted the energy and raw materials sectors.
Singapore’s benchmark Straits Times Index (.FTSTI) rose 1.25% on Monday to 3,025.04 points.

Mapletree Logistics Trust has been agreed to acquire the following properties in Japan Kabushiki Kaisha A-Max to acquire the following properties in Japan:
- Iwatsuki Logistics Centre: a distribution centre with ancillary office located in Iwatsuki, Saitama Prefecture with gross floor area (GFA) of 30,000 sqm.
- Iruma Logistics Centre: a distribution centre with ancillary office with GFA of 26,000 sqm, located in the city of Iruma, Saitama Prefecture; and
- Noda Logistics Centre: a distribution centre with ancillary office with GFA of 36,000 sqm, located in the city of Noda, Saitama Prefecture.
The properties will be acquired for a total purchase consideration of JPY 13 billion ($200 million). The vendor, A-Max, is a logistics facilities development and management company.
