Investors’ appetite for Singapore blue chips likely to remain subdued ahead of earnings season, with Singapore Press Holdings (T39.SG) being first STI company to report results, due after market close today, says Dow Jones.

Investors may nibble at Singapore shares after yesterday’s retreat, with market undertone backed by modest gains on Wall Street overnight, says Dow Jones.
Upside likely to be limited with investors eyeing earnings, which have started trickling in, with reporting season in full swing from next week.
STI expected to face resistance at 3000, while this month’s lowest close of 2,943 may provide support on any pullback; closed down 0.8% at 2,963.19 yesterday.
“Every time the market goes up, the gains have been little. Likewise when it’s down, people who had missed out will accumulate and so limit the decline,” says a broker at local bank.
Noble Group (N21.SG) may be in focus after New Hope Coal (NHC.AU) makes offer for Macarthur Coal (MCC.AU), reviving uncertainty over supply chain manager’s proposed asset swap with Macarthur; stock closed down 1.9% at $3.18.

There is also an option for a 64GB SSD MiniCard. The Vostro line is available in the United States as of March 9, while Precision M4500 is arriving later.

CapitaLand to launch 3,000 residential units a year in China
Bloomberg says CapitaLand, Southeast Asia’s biggest developer, plans to launch an average 3,000 residential units a year in China, Liew Mun Leong, president and chief executive officer, said at a briefing today, without giving a timeframe. He also said CapitaLand aims to expand its Vietnam portfolio to 10 percent of its total assets in the next three to five years.

Cisco to Add 2,000 to 3,000 Jobs
Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers says the economic recovery appears to be gaining speed and Cisco will add as many as 3,000 jobs over the next few quarters as it looks to continue its expansion into new markets. Cisco reports a solid fiscal second quarter that included a 23.2 increase in income over the same period in 2009 and an 8 percent jump in sales.
