Tiger Airways has reported solid passenger volumes and load factors in December.

For the month of December, Tiger Air carried 555,000 passengers, a 22% increase compared to the same month last year. The average load factor across Asia and Australia for the month was 91%, an increase of 1 percentage point over December 2009.

Yangzijiang’s 3Q earnings up 32% to $142m

Yangzijiang Shipbuilding (Holdings), one of China’s leading and shipbuilders, says earnings for the threemonths that ended 30 September 2010 (3Q2010).surged 32% to RMB730.4 million ($142 million) y-o-y.

Yangzijiang says production in its new yard was enhanced during the quarter, resulting in 7 vessels being delivered from the new yard in 3Q2010, as compared to 4 vessels in 3Q2009. Hence, in total the group delivered 14 vessels in 3Q2010 (compared with 7 vessels in 3Q2009) that pushed the group’s revenue 19% higher to RMB3.1 billion ($602 million).

China Hongxing +3.2%; Consumer confidence up, says DMG

China Hongxing Sports (BR9.SG) +3.2% at $0.16 in active trade, extending 10.7% gain so far this week, as players relook battered-down sportswear retailer, which has been consolidating around 52-week low of $0.115 for last 2 months, holding well below $0.30 book value, according to Dow Jones.

Stock one of worst performers among S-chips this year, given concerns over weak consumer demand, lower selling prices.

But DMG, which has Buy call with $0.22 target, says Hongxing’s business on brink of sustained turnaround as its orderbook picking up: “Consumer confidence has held up and may shift to a higher gear once a nationwide wave of minimum wage hike kicks in. In addition, the current RMB reform to allow greater exchange rate flexibility is clearly good for boosting domestic consumption in China in the long run.”

SingPost’s Q1 net profit up 3.2% to $40.7m

SingPost says net profit for the first quarter of FY 2010/11 grew 3.2% to $40.7 million. Excluding one-off items, such as benefits from the Jobs Credit Scheme and amortisation of deferred gain on intellectual property rights, underlying net profit rose 1% to $37.3 million.

Smartflex IPO 3.2 times oversubscribed

Smartflex Holdings, the provider of integrated circuit (IC) module assembly and testing services for contact and dual interface smart cards, says its IPO was 3.2 times oversubscribed.

Swiber Holdings posts 32% fall in 1Q net profit to $11.2m

Swiber Holdings, the integrated construction and support services provider to the offshore oil and gas industry, says it posted a 32.2% decline in net profit in 1QFY2010 to US$8.1 million ($11.2 million) from US$11.9 million in 1QFY2009 was mainly attributable to higher administrative expenses, other operating expenses and finance costs.
